Who we are
Move Greenock is a relocation marketplace and coordination service for people moving to Greenock and Inverclyde. We are the data controller for the information described here. [Add registered company name, address and ICO registration number before launch.]
What we collect
Contact details you give us (name, email, phone). Information about your move: household size, timeline, budget range, whether children are moving with you, and whether you are moving from outside the UK. Enquiries and applications you send through the site. Records of payments (we never see or store your card details — Stripe handles those). Basic analytics about how the free tools are used.
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not ask for or store your immigration status, visa details, or immigration history. Those questions belong with a regulated adviser, not with us. We do not store card numbers. We do not store raw IP addresses against your record.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry and provide the service you asked for (contract). To send you the result of a tool you used and follow up about your move (legitimate interests, and consent where required). To keep the marketplace safe and moderate listings (legitimate interests). To meet our accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
When you enquire about a property, your enquiry goes to the agent or landlord listing it. When you apply for a job, your application goes to that employer. When we introduce you to a partner — a removals firm, or a regulated immigration adviser — we share only what is needed to make the introduction, and we tell you first. We use processors for hosting, email and payments; they act on our instructions only.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and leads: [X] months from last contact. Bookings and payment records: 7 years, for accounting. Checklist and account data: while your account is open, then [X] days. Your rights

International moves
If you use the international track, we hold only the coordination details you give us: where you are moving from, household size, sector, and target date. Anything visa-related is handled by the regulated adviser we introduce you to, under their own privacy policy, not ours.
