Gourock
Waterfront town at the mouth of the Clyde, with ferry links to Dunoon and Kilcreggan and an outdoor lido.
Gourock sits where the Clyde widens toward the sea lochs, and the view is the point: Argyll hills across the water, ferries crossing all day. Gourock Outdoor Pool is one of Scotland's few heated seawater lidos. The railway terminates here, so the commute to Glasgow starts with a seat.
